Response to "Living With The Bomb"
I never really realized how close we actually could be to nuclear war. All of the countries that the author says has nuclear weapons are not countries that we can consider allies. They all have their own reasons for not liking America and the terrorist don't even seem to need a reason. That is why I agree with the author when he says that we need cooperation among nations in order to prevent nuclear war. We have already seen the capabilities of nuclear warfare with the bombings in Japan. There is no reason why that should have to happen again. I know that everyone wants to defend themselves so I'm not totally against having nuclear weapons. I just hope that is all they being used for.

I was also really surprised by the list of countries the author gave who already possess nuclear weapons or who have the technology and resources to quickly create them. It is frightening because, like you said, most of the countries on that list are not the U.S.’s allies. Some of them even consider us mortal enemies. Therefore, I agree with you when you say “…we need cooperation among nations to prevent nuclear war.” It is too dangerous and too many lives are certain to be lost.
ReplyDeleteI agree that we are very close to being a nuclear war. Nuclear weapons are extremley dangerous and should only be used for security reasons. If these resources are continually being made it will just cause an ever greater risk of there being a possible nuclear war.
